Alondra Hernandez
Alondra Hernandez is a recent graduate from the University of Houston main campus. She pursued a dual degree in Psychology and in Communication Sciences and Disorders. She plans to stay in the education field, but step into the counseling aspect and the special education area. She loves to help others and give back to the community.
During her time at the University of Houston, she joined many organizations that align with her values such as Kappa Delta Chi and the National Student Lead Language and Hearing Association. Through both of these organizations, she was able to gain leadership skills and appreciate working with others. Alondra participated in many volunteer opportunities and organized projects to help out the community. She held positions such as Publicity chairwoman, Vice President, and Writer at one of the newsletters.
Apart from being a full-time student with 5 classes under her belt every semester she also worked in many companies and many areas. She has experience in admissions, registration records for the university, and special education intervention. Alondra’s hard work has helped her gain employment as a Special education teacher at a high school. She has kicked off her career but hopes to go back to school in the future to gain a Master’s degree and be able to get a role where she can change systems that have failed special education students in the past.
