Alejandra Dultmeier
As a neurodivergent, first-generation Mexican American, I am deeply committed to social justice and mental health advocacy.
Graduating from Harmony Public Schools in 2015 and earning my Bachelor’s in Psychology from the University of Houston in 2019, I began my journey as a bilingual teacher at HISD. Witnessing my students struggle with the adversity that comes with immigrant family dynamics and navigating the inequalities and racism embedded in standardized testing fueled my dedication to fostering change.
Currently serving as the Bilingual Communications Manager for Harmony Public Schools, I strive to engage and empower Spanish-speaking families, ensuring their active participation in their children’s education. My experiences and passion have driven me to apply for a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, where I aim to support young, underdiagnosed neurodivergent girls in immigrant communities, drawing from my personal journey of being diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 27.
My time at Harmony Public Schools profoundly impacted my success, shaping my understanding of the challenges faced by students in marginalized communities. One significant change I envision in the education system is a greater emphasis on inclusivity and tailored support for neurodivergent students.
