Juan Soltero
Returning to Colorado State University after completing his Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Juan is a first-year graduate student pursuing a Masters of Engineering degree in the same field. It was thanks to his outstanding high school academics and extracurricular activities that he was able to draw the financial support of scholarship organizations including the Dream.US and the Denver Scholarship Foundation.
His first year in college was particularly difficult and resulted in a semester in academic probation, but he rose to the occasion over the course of the rest of his undergraduate career to raise his GPA by nearly a point and a half to a 3.0. Juan participated in the Precast Concrete Institution’s Big Beam Competition as part of his senior design project, which culminated in earning 5th place in the national competition. This experience solidified his desire to continue his education, build on his knowledge, and further strengthen his network of professionals in the field.
Having taken the first steps towards licensure in the form of the Fundamentals of Engineering exam, Juan is eager to improve as a student and professional to contribute to society as a part of the engineering industry.
