Karlota “Karly” Arnaiz-Palacios
As Mark Twain once said, “Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one’s lifetime.” From an early point in my education, I have valued experience and made a conscious effort to see what and who is out there in the unknown. That is why I went out to pursue (and obtain) a Bachelor of Arts in both Anthropology as well as one in Archaeology.
I graduated from DSST: Green Valley Ranch in 2018. My journey has taken me to all sorts of random but fun places. These places I called home include: Cedar Rapids, Iowa all the way to Hilo, Hawaii. I even ended up in Orlando, Florida, working for the Walt Disney Company for a few years.
Karlota is currently living in Oregon working for the University of Oregon as a Student Housing Manager. As a former educator for DPS and a first-generation graduate, she has been a witness to the faults within the education system that impedes college students. She acts as Resident Advisor and has dedicated her free time to the Hi, How Are You Project based in Austin, Texas, to promote the importance of meaningful conversations surrounding mental health.
